Choosing a counselor is an important decision.  I believe the most important consideration is finding a counselor with whom you feel comfortable. Research shows that the relationship between the counselor and client is the most important variable in determining counseling outcomes.  I hope you will learn more about me and my approach to counseling by looking through this website.  I would be happy to talk with you more about your situation over the phone before we decide whether to meet in person or online.  If we determine working with me is not the best fit for your circumstances, I will steer you in the right direction by providing referrals to other professionals in the area.  I look forward to talking with you and I am excited to support you on your journey.

Perspective and Experience:

I work with adults, children (ages 10 and up) and teens who have a wide range of life stressors.  I see my role as assisting each person to lead the life they want.  This may take different forms, from the more open-ended process of listening and reflecting to a more directed approach of being a coach or actively encouraging a life change.  I work with clients to become aware of sensations in their body and to experience their emotions in a different way.  Some clients may seek individual yoga therapy.  Working one-on-one to create a yoga plan specific to your body and lifestyle is a valuable tool for navigating daily stress.  Yoga really does help lay the foundation for a healthy life, physically, emotionally and mentally.  I believe we are all on a journey and my role is to meet you where you are and support you on the ride.  I have enjoyed supporting others in my role as a counselor for almost twenty years.  These experiences have shaped who I am as a person and influenced how I approach counseling.  In addition to meeting with clients in a private setting, I have worked as a school counselor at Whittier Elementary, Morning Star Elementary, Scajewea Middle School and Gallatin High School in Bozeman.  I've also been a counselor at Manhattan Elementary and Arrowhead School in Pray, Montana.
